With that being said, fluoride can be dangerous if it is consumed in large amounts. Fact: If your gums are bleeding, then this is a sign that your gums are irritated and inflamed. Food particles and plaque are two of the main things that lead to gum inflammation. You remove plaque and food particles when you brush your teeth. Therefore, brushing your teeth is actually one of the best things that you can do if your gums are bleeding.

Myth: Bad Breath Is Always Caused by Poor Dental Hygiene

Fact: Poor dental hygiene can lead to bad breath, but that is not always the case. Certain medical conditions, such as pneumonia, can lead to bad breath. If a person has good oral hygiene habits and still suffers from bad breath, then it could be caused by a medical condition.

Myth: Chewing Gum Is Bad For Your Teeth

Fact: There is actually a little bit of truth to this myth. Sugar-containing gum can be bad for your teeth because it feeds bacteria. However, chewing sugar free gum can protect your teeth.
