What is allergy?

Allergy refers to an exaggerated reaction by our immune system response to exposure to certain foreign substances .But these foreign substances are seen inactive and no response occurs in non allergic people. Allergies are caused by a penetrating immune system. For some causes, our body mistakes harmless substances such as dust or germs attack them.

What causes allergy:

The immune system of the body organizes defense mechanism against foreign substances. The jerk of allergy harms the defense system of the body. The substance that causes allergy is called allergens. Some most common allergens are pollen, mold, animal dander, dust mites, cockroaches etc. IgE is an antibody that all people have in a small amount. It is necessary to protect us from parasites. When the allergens attack the human body, it destroys this antibody .This creates allergy in the human body.


There are many types of allergy symptoms. When our body is attacked by the germs of allergy, our body releases chemicals such as histamine .Just as it does when fighting a cold .It causes swelling in our nasal passages, coughing and sneezing. Allergies are not spreadable although some people think so. Allergy symptoms can begin immediately after persuasive to the allergen.

Who is at risk for allergies?

Allergies can develop at any age’s people. And the initial introduction or sensitization period may even begin in the womb. And the Individual can outgrow the allergies over time. One the other hand, many children outgrow food allergies or may have nasal or environmental allergies are something that individuals often grow into overtime, often into young adulthood.


To prevent allergy symptoms, we have to avoid the substances they are allergic to. The allergens (that causes the allergy) are varying person to person. If someone is allergic to pollen, for instance, have to go outside on days when the pollen count is high. The allergic people have to develop a specific type of antibody called immunoglobulin E (IgE).


There are lots of allergy treatment options. First step is to identify the allergens and allergy symptoms. After identifying, the causes of the symptom must be avoided or removed from the whole life forever. Although prevention comes first, but treatment and medications are usually used to decrease allergy symptoms and improve the patient’s quality. ’Allergy shots’ is a familiar treatment of allergy symptoms .The treatment is a method for increasing the allergic patient’s natural tolerance to the things that are triggering the allergic reactions.
